Pressure Drum Filter

The Mecana Pressure Drum Filter (MDF) consists of a vertical drum in a pressure tank. Each MDF has its own independent cleaning system consisting of suction beam with (profiled) suction lip.

How MDF works
The MDFs are used in a pressurised system. The filter surface in the standard version is 0.5 m². The water flows through the fully submerged filter construction from the outside to the inside, retaining the solids. The system is controlled by the pressure in the tank. For free flow systems the differential pressure is up to 60 mbar, for pressure drum filters it can be over 1 bar. The filter is cleaned by the rotating drum, whereby the filtration process is not interrupted. Within one cleaning cycle, the entire filter surface is cleaned. Cleaning takes place in automatic mode, either pressure- or time-controlled. Settleable solids are intermittently removed from the filter hopper.
