MEC Disk

With the MEC Disk, pile cloth media filtration undergoes a generational shift. The patented process (PCT/EP2021/077496) resembles a record player. Cleaning is carried out simultaneously on all filter disks, whereby the suction beams are movable and can traverse the filter surface either in a stripe-shaped radial or spiral pattern. In addition to internal pumps, there is also the option to use dry-installed external pumps. Especially from 12 filter disks or a filter area of 60 m², the MEC Disk fully demonstrates its advantages and operates with fewer pumps and a simplified control and cabling structure.

MEC MegaDisk

MEC MegaDisk is the big brother of the MSF and offers the same advantages but extends the exceptional performance by increasing the disk diameter. The MegaDisk consists of eight interchangeable segments per disk (10 m² filter surface per disk), which are mounted on the central tube. The distance between the disks is 230 mm. Filter cleaning is performed using a central pump and a valve for each cleaning system.

MSF

The Mecana Disk Filter (MSF) was developed for high hydraulic capacity. Mecana's outstanding operational experience in a wide range of municipal and industrial applications is a unique selling point.
The MSF consists of six segments per disk (5 m² filter surface per disk), which are mounted onto the central tube. According to the application, the distance between the disks is either 180, 240 or 300 mm. Every two/three disks have their own independent cleaning system, consisting of pivoting suction beams with (profiled) suction lip and a filter cleaning pump. The filter cleaning can also be performed with one central pump and one valve per cleaning system. However, filter systems with one filter cleaning pump per two/three filter disks offer advantages in terms of operational reliability.

How MSF works
The MSF is mounted in a filter tank equipped with an inlet and outlet weir for hydraulic decoupling as well as an emergency overflow and level measurement. The water flows through the fully submerged filter structure from the outside to the inside passing the pile layer and retaining the solids. Filtrate flows over the rising chamber and through the outlet weir. The outlet weir defines the zero-water level, which serves as a reference for system control. The filter media is cleaned by rotating the disc without interrupting the filtration process. Within one cleaning cycle, the entire filter surface is cleaned. In automatic mode, cleaning is either level-controlled or time-controlled. Within one cleaning cycle, the entire filter surface is cleaned. Suspended solids are intermittently removed from the bottom of the filter.
