PFAS Removal System

The MEC PFAS Removal System uses an innovative micro-sorbent suspension for the targeted adsorption of PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances). A robust separator subsequently reliably separates the treated water from the suspension. The turbulent micro-sorbent slurry prevents biofouling and reduces deposits for stable, low-maintenance operation. The specially developed micro-sorbent binds significantly more PFAS than conventional adsorbers or ion exchange resins, thereby massively reducing operating and lifecycle costs. The fully automated process as well as the adsorbent exchange adapt to fluctuating PFAS concentrations in the influent.
In a single-stage configuration, PFAS/PFOA and other regulated PFAS are reliably removed below applicable limit values at low to medium influent concentrations. In the case of high PFAS concentrations or demanding raw water conditions, a two-stage configuration can be used to reliably meet the strictest effluent requirements.
