Pile Cloth Media Filtration
Mecana, pioneering work for solids removal. A surface filtration process with depth filtration effect in the pile layer. one technology for various application such as:
- Tertiary filtration
- Removing micropollutants
- Drinking water treatment

OptiFiber® Pile Cloth Media
Engineered pile cloth with a multi-dimensional structure. The OptiFiber® family offers a suitable pile cloth media with standard, micro or ultra fibers.
OptiComb®
A new Mecana innovation for increasing the filtration area with the same filter surface. The profiled suction lip structures the fluidizable pile layer after filter cleaning. OptiComb® results in higher solids loading and less backwash water.
Rotating Biological Contactor
Biofilm fixed-bed reactors with slowly rotating disks as carrier material. Proven for more than 50 years for the biological treatment of municipal wastewater or groundwater remediation.
Mecana Compact Systems
Combination of rotating biological contactor and pile cloth media filtration as a compact solution. In addition to the biological removal of organic substances and nitrification, the solution offers a low-solids effluent. Areas of application are:
- Alpine huts
- Smaller municipalities
- Tourist resorts
MECANAUV
The compact system consists of two proven systems designed for the advanced treatment of biologically treated wastewater and water reuse. MECANAUV integrates a PCMF and a UV disinfection unit, thereby enabling straightforward water reuse in compliance with EU Regulation 2020/741.
